The Belgian Malinois is a highly intelligent and versatile working dog known for its strong work ethic and agility. Medium-sized, they typically weigh between 40 to 80 pounds (18 to 36 kg) and stand about 22 to 26 inches (56 to 66 cm) tall at the shoulder. The Malinois has a short, fawn-colored coat with a black mask and distinctive black markings.
Originally bred for herding, these dogs are now widely used in police and military roles due to their keen senses, high energy, and trainability. They are loyal and protective, making them excellent companions and watchdogs. However, they require regular exercise, mental stimulation, and consistent training to thrive, as they can become bored and destructive if not properly engaged. Their strong instincts and intelligence make them well-suited for various canine sports and activities.
