Everyone using or working for Petslove.uk should be aware of some of the most important Digital Safety Practices to avoid malware and ransomware attacks against the company.
Malware = Malicious software, is any software code or computer program “intentionally written to harm a computer system or its users.”
Ransomware = “installs itself onto a victim’s machine, encrypts their files, and then turns around and demands a ransom (they ask for money), to return that data to the user.”
It is very important to follow strictly the next rules:
- Use Strong, Unique Passwords. Do not use the same password for multiple accounts;
- Keep Software updated (update your computer/mobile phone);
- Be Cautious with Links and Attachments, do not open suspicious links and delete any unsolicited e-mails;
- Use HTTPS: look for the “https://” in the URL when browsing;
- Beware of Phishing Attempts: Be skeptical of unsolicited emails, messages, or phone calls requesting sensitive information or urging you to take urgent action;
- Stay informed: about the latest online threats, scams, and security best practices by following reputable cybersecurity news sources and organizations;
- Use Antivirus and Firewall protection
