Amazon Milk Tree Frog

The Amazon milk tree frog (Trachycephalus resinifictrix), also known as the crown tree frog, is a striking amphibian native to the Amazon rainforest. Characterized by its vibrant green coloration and distinctive white or yellow markings, this tree-dwelling frog typically measures about 2 to 4 inches (5 to 10 cm) in length. Known for its unique behavior, the Amazon milk tree frog secretes a milky fluid from its skin as a defense mechanism against predators. This frog is an arboreal species, spending most of its life in trees and shrubs, and is often found near water sources. Its diet primarily consists of insects, making it an effective predator in its natural habitat.
